Whole-house remodel with accent on acoustics for piano concerts

This home remodel was driven by the homeowners’ visions — both are visual artists, and one is a musician, as well — and desire for a unique space to conduct piano concerts and display their art collection. The home and space itself was designed and created with art and artistry in mind, much like a sculpture. The owners run an art foundation that helps other talented artists boost their profiles and get noticed, enabling them to support themselves through their art. Many of the artistic details were designed by the homeowner, and he approached the project as he would in creating his own art.

The one-of-a-kind space was designed for better acoustics, a more open floorplan, and an added kitchen with custom metallic cabinet finishes and a new bath.

Coffered ceilings are highlighted by custom LED light boxes, while repurposed Art Deco chandeliers from New York City illuminate the new kitchen and bath. We worked with a stained-glass artist and Marvin Windows to create unique stained-glass double-pane inserts.

The rooftop patio provides a space to relax and enjoy the panoramic view of the nearby mountains.
